Rustyn’s Room | Live Rodeo Stream | Holiday Sealing

Friday my mom, Aunt and her kids, and Mylea came over for the day to help Amanda out with Rustyn’s room.  They did a wonderful job painting it and got things kind of figured out for the crib and everything else.  I was out the majority of the day as soon as I finished my test for the summer class that I’m taking right now in June.  When I got back in the early afternoon they had the wood up and it looked great I think.  The blanket that Shane made even matched all three of the colors in the room!  What kind of luck is that?

Later that day we had the RVRCE Jackpot (http://www.wonderfulwesterns.com).  We streamed the event live over the internet, and had a blast doing it.  Hopefully we are able to reach more people that want to watch the rodeos, but can’t.

Yesterday we ran over to Snowflake to the Temple where some friends were sealed.  It was great to be in the Temple, and we were kind of hoping that Rustyn may have wanted to grace us with his presence since we were already in that area, but no such luck.  We ran by Walmart and bought his crib and a few other things.  Ready or not here he comes.

Topsy Turvy Tomatoes

Part of our garden we wanted to plant this year was Tomatoes.  Since our lovely dog Luna likes to eat them aparently out of the garden we had to find alternative means of planting them.  My mom had some of these so we tried them out yesterday.  Definately an interesting way to plant them and Luna won’t be able to get to them for a while.

Bog Tank 2009 Fishing | Twitter Style

Howdy all, every year the Apache Indian Tribe holds a fishing derby for a day at Bog Tank. They give all the kids 14 and under a day pass to fish on the reservation and give out tons of prizes. My dad and I took Mylea and the Kim Madrid children. I was told to take a camera and keep everyone up to date on what was happening so I used Twitter. Here’s the day in a twitter stream as well as some pics that I took. Remember it is twitter so the newest if first. (Read it from the bottom up for a chronological order of event)

  1. All done for this year. Hopefully next time won’t be near as windy
  2. Too bad it was already closed.. No tank fishing this time.
  3. Back to catch fish from a tank for Wacey and Shayman.. Good ‘ol hot dogs for lunch.
  4. Still windy. Sad because this could have been even that much more fun.
  5. Poles are in.. Waiting for hotdogs now. 3 fish and tons of crawdads. Pretty sure everyone had a blast.
  6. Mylea just caught a crawdad with her fish.
  7. Shaymon is catching crawdads with his little pole. Missed the photo though. Is that a fish story then?
  8. Sigrid caught one!! We it off the hook and now Shaymon wants one.
  9. Mylea and dad went to measure Mylea’s catch.. Stay tuned for prizes.
  10. So many people here! No wonder we aren’t getting any bites.
  11. Sigrid just brought a crawdad in. Almost a fish. Worms seems to be the keeper at bog tank today.
  12. Snack time! (For us, not the fish)
  13. Mylea just caught number two.. She must have the spot.
  14. As soon as I left the boys they both thought they caught fishes and reeled in.. Maybe next time, hehe.
  15. Mylea caught fish number one with a worm.. I think Luna wanted to eat it.
  16. Is this a glimpse of the future? If so then patience is a virtue that I still have yet to acquire.. Not with fishing, but with the kiddies.
  17. Been fishing for 15 minutes and we are already on potty break number two.
  18. At Bog Tank for a kids fishing tourney. Should be fun, but the wind needs to chill out.

Hope you all enjoyed that as much as we did fishing today. Here’s the photos..

9 1/2 Months

We DJed a wedding for a fellow Nursing Student of Amanda’s on Saturday in Show Low.  While there I grabbed the camera and took a picture of her since you all have requested a profile pic of my beautiful wife.  We had a really good time and I even was asked to DJ a company party for one of the attendees in December.  She is currently on her way to take the NCLEX-PN exam in Albuquerque so I am hoping that I can get her to post a little bit on here when she gets back.  We had an appointment yesterday and things are starting to happen.  Doctor Connely told us we still have few weeks to go.  He did copy off all Rustyn’s prenatal data for Amanda to take with her, and told her to call with the birth weight.  We enjoy him, and appreciate his sense of humor.

Check back for an update from Amanda soon.

A few of our Pets

I took out out camera the other day to take a picture of Amanda (who is currently on her way to Albuquerque to take her NCLEX-PN test) and found the pictures of the picnic we went on with Mylea to play with Luna at the Golf Course pond. Click here to see some cool pictures of Luna swimming

We have a colt named Jigsaw that is getting old enough to ride.  We have been working with him to help him trust people and learn some of the queing given by the reins before anyone even gets on him.  He is doing great in the round pen, and works well on the line (blue ropes in the photos) to turn and respond to ques he is given.  This Monday he was actually ridden for the first time by a friend of ours, Bryce Bigham.  He has never broken a colt but did great!

The other pictures are Luna getting a bath before he went to a dog show with Mylea where he won Best in Show and Most Protective.  He received the second award because he actually got in a fight with a dog at the event.

Jon Schmidt Mashup | Mission Music

Sally asked me to make her a ring tone today, and so I started to search for the song she wanted. When I saw it was Jon Schmidt I knew it would be amazing! The only sad part is I can’t buy the album yet. I would recommend you purchase his music. http://www.jonschmidt.com He is GREAT study music, and he was great background music that I listened to on my mission. Thanks Sal!

Happy Mom’s Day!

Happy mother’s day to all.  We spent ours at Lyman Lake having a burger fry and hanging out at the Lake.  We found this the oportune time to see if all the hype that Luna would be an awesome dock jumping dog was true.  We even videoed it so we could have the whole moment on film… Ya, not exactly what we were expecting, but he did get better the more we did it.  So after the much anitcipated dock jumping my dad, Cassey Rae, and I headed around the lake to fish a little in a spot that we will be returning to soon.  All that we had were some worms, but I ended up catching a pretty big catfish.  We named him Charlie and he now resides at the ranch.  Currently living in a water trough with our cows he will soon be transplanted into our pond where we will be able to eat water dogs to his delight.  Hopefully it was worth it Charlie, even after that fun ride home in the ice chest.  I’m transcoding the video right now so I can edit it so if it is not up when you read this then check back soon for some dock jumping and even a video from Amanda’s birthday posted below.
