Holiday goodness…
So this may end up being a reoccuring thing here. Thursday has come once again, and after getting two great breaks between Christmas and New Years I am less than enthusiastic with being back to work. It has been a great week though so who am I to complain about the great lives that The Other McBrides have. Christmas was great, and more than anything it was awesome to get to see family and friends. The weekend before Christmas we drove up to Colorado to see the Dare family. Sam & Jill flew in from Connecticut, Dean and Donna drove up from Arizona, and everyone met up at Chad & Mindy’s. It ended up beign a rather interesting flight for Sam and Jill (Sam & Jill getting Home). Jill blogged all about it so check that out as well. We just had a great time up there, nothing but great memories. I’m pretty sure that every one in the Dare Families are hooked on the Wii. We played Mario Kart for a few hours the night before we went home, and Sam ended up buying a Wii when he got back to Connecticut. The drive back was fun with the snow that Colorado was getting so we took it slow, and had an enjoyable (Amanda won’t believe I called any drive enjoyable) drive home.
After getting home we had Christmas Eve at my parents house, and with a lot of other friends and family we filled their house with about 20 people and had a blast. We stayed up and played Rummy for most of the night. My great Aunt Gwen loves to host Christmas dinner, and now that she is getting older she loves to take us all out to Hondah’s Christmas Dinner. We made the drive while it was snowing and freezing up and had a great meal as well as a great time.
New Years was spent with Ethan and Emily at our house. We played games and watched movies the whole night, and rang in the new year with some Martinellies. You know, that hardcore Cider stuff. Since then we have started to get back into the groove. School is starting again for Amanda next week, and my starts the following one. She is already studying a ton on the homework they got for the break. She is amazing and I don’t know how she juggles me, school, work, and being pregnant. That is going well by the way. Our last Doctor’s appointment went smooth and we were told everything looks to be on track and normal. She has actually lost one pound since we started this whole thing, but the Doctor told us that it is not a concern anymore, and it will start happening soon. Amanda told me earlier this week that she felt the baby move, and getting to hear the heartbeat again are both amazing experiences for both of us. Our next appointment will be the full ultrasound where we get to see our child for the first time. Hopefully sha (see John & Ceri’s blog) is not bashful and we will be able to see the gender.
Sorry about the lack of photos, but my new phone has the Camera disabled so we don’t take near as many pictures.
Kind of Relaxing
So it is Thursday, and it can’t go by quick enough. The weekend is so close, and my clock is moving backwards. After working at my desk for the majority of the morning I decided to grab my laptop, and head up to the roof of the Admin Building where I work. We recently put in a wireless network for contractors and vendors that we use as well. So here I am checking my email, and enjoy the brisk air this morning. I think I could get used to this, and may have to aquire a chair or something to bring up here for the nice days this winter.
It has let me relax and enjoy work a little bit. Clancey came up last night and got in at 1am. I didn’t go to bed until 1130 becuase i was working on a computer for the Crawford’s so needless to say I didn’t get much good sleep last night. I’ve been tired all this week, and am pumped to get to relax the rest of the day before tackling about a hundred ZNET-related tasks tomorrow. Why does my day off never seem like a day off from work, oh wait cause it’s not!
Amanda has been feeling progressively better, I think. She seems to be naucious less and has more energy. Hopefully we have found our way out of the first Trimester, and onto gaining the baby bump time.
Nursing School Projects
Amanda had a nursing school project where they had to teach about certain drugs. They wanted to do a video, and so last night we turned our dining room into a make shift news studio.. Enjoy!
Thanksgiving Weekend
Of course we had to get together and play Wii for a while.
Grandma had her 70th Birthday on Saturday. We all got together and had cake and ice cream. It was great to see everyone together again. Don’t ask my dad or Grandma about the Rummy games though. You can ask Clancey or me about it though, we will tell you all about it!
What is this!?! I don’t think i’ve seen this in a LONG time. Mom and Mylea played Go-Fish together cause all the big kids were playing Rummy the whole time.
We had a Christmas Party for the Ward on Saturday and Santa even came. He looked a little familiar though…
On Thanksgiving morning we were going to get wood, but it started snowing bad when we headed up to the mountain so we headed back and split some of my wood while we watched the snow come out way.
Luna’s new favorite toy!
Luna went on a trip to Aunt Goldie’s (Dickie’s sister) with Wes earlier today and their dog has this huge ball that he was playing with. Luna was in the back of the truck and saw this other dog playing with his ball and got so excited he jumped out of the truck and wanted to join in the fun. Aunt Goldie saw all of this take place and decided that Luna needed a big ball too. So he had early Christmas too. He is so proud of his new toy and is currently sleeping with it in his bed!
Amanda’s Early Christmas!
So I had to work today, the day after Thanksgiving! Yuck! So no black Friday shopping for me, oh well I guess we didn’t need to spend the money. It was a hard day, I had a migraine all day and finally the hospital told me to go home cause we didn’t have enough patients, I then had to go over to WalMart to get Catch Phrase, which I forgot, and to pick up some pictures for my mother in law. With my headache, I drove home. I walk into the house to it being full of family playing on the Wii, I look over in my living room and bam, there it was! Wes surprised me with a Baby Grand piano. It was originally bought in 1923 by a family here in Eagar, and Wes did some computer work for them and while he was working it became a conversation piece. They said that noone in the family played it anymore and they wanted to find a good home for it, and Wes decided our home would be the best and they agreed.
The Pandas, at the Zoo
So for those that don’t already know, Amanda is pregnant. We just had our (when I say our, I just sat there in the chair while Amanda got violated) appoint with the baby doctor this past week, and we found out that she is 9 weeks along, and everything seems in good order. She told us that it is not twins, as she can tell by the size. Almost through with the first Trimester, so things should be pretty good for the holiday season. Fear mixed with excitement would probably be the proper emotion I am feeling at least. We won’t have an ultrasound until 20 weeks when we will be able to find out the gender and everything, so we’ll stay tuned.
