Overwhelming would be an understatement to describe how this experience has been so far. Yesterday at 3:30 my family decided to load the horses and head out. I didn’t realize how hard that was going to be. The back burn smoke made Round Valley very eerie. (GOTTA RUN, MORE TO COME..)

Posted to Facebook – I would like to apologize for any advertising that was shown before the stream came on when you logged on. I need everyone that is following http://wallow.us/ to know I am NOT in any way attempting to monetize this. I pay for a pro account on Justin.tv to remove ads that would play during the stream and interrupt your viewing experience. I apologize they play an ad before the stream begins. I in no way am trying to make any money on this terrible situation that we are in. I was saddened to see comments that would suggest something like that. Thanks for logging on, you are the entire and only reason that I’m doing this.
BLOG UPDATE @ 6/7/2011 – 7:51am
The last 24 hours have definietly been a unique experience. I dedicated all of my efforts outside of my job to trying to help with communications on the fire (mostly through Facebook, Twitter, and http://www.wallow.us. It has been such an intense time, but an amazing experience. Yesterday I helped the local call center located at the school’s District Office get properly segmented and secured with their data network. I installed an Untangle box which is doing most of the work for me now. Once they were back up and running I got ready for the live stream which was a whole other experience. Trying to live blog and run a camera at the same time is not an easy task. I hope that the stream was useable enough that it was beneficial for people. At the peak of the meeting I noticed 1740 people watching it live. I’m not sure if that was the highest number, but the highest that I saw. At midnight while reading through the amazing emails that I got from people all over the country I pulled up the analytics for my blog, and saw that i had over 10,000 views yesterday. I hope that this site is helping out, and hope I can continue to provide accurate information to everyone affected by this fire. Thank you for making this such a beneficial experience.

Memorial Day Weekend 2011
We had some fun over the holiday weekend. Rustyn had Grandpa fix his bike so he could reach the handle bars, but we still need to tape some blocks on to the pedals so he can really ride it. Amanda’s MTC companion Char and her husband Brian came to visit so Rustyn and his new friend Kai watched shows, rode the fourwheeler, and played at the park with Cordell. Alex even made a new friend too. On Monday we went to Cassey’s graduation party and visited Gwen. Rustyn pushed Mylea around in Gwen’s chair most of the time.
Another good week for Pictures
Amanda had to drive to Idaho and back last week so I had a few days with the kids alone. We had some fun, and took a lot of pictures that week so I posted a few of my favorites. All of these photos were taken with my iPhone and only the sunrise and the black and white pinhole picture are modified at all. The first one is Rustyn playing at the park. I think this may be my favorite picture I’ve ever taken. The second was driving out the ranch at sunrise to pick up a trailer. I changed the coloring with Camera+ to bring out the intensity of the shot. The third was after a family picture right before Mom left for Idaho. Rustyn asked me if he could “drive” the camera so I lowered the tripod, and he showed me how to do it. The effect/color correcting was done with Camera+ as well. The last was out at the ranch after Rustyn got done riding horses and we were feeding all the animals. That goat’s name is Tangled because it is much hairier than it’s brothers and sisters. While we really missed mom it was a fun couple days. I was sure glad when she was home though.

Blog Catchup | April 2011
1 – 3 – Alex & Rustyn. Alex got a new blanket and toy from Grandma, and Rustyn decided he wanted to play too. I think Alex’s look in the second photo sum it up properly.
4 – 6 – Rustyn riding around on with his rope, and then feeding the chickens.
7 – Daddy/Daughter dance that I djed.
8 – A words with friends game I was playing where i only had vowels.. how awesome is that?
9 – 10 – I found these at the rodeo yard sale for my mom. Rustyn riding Cordell’s scooter around the yard sale.
11 – Pretty much the coolest trip to the dump ever where the employee told me I didn’t park in the right area. I was supposed to park at seven, but apparently I had parked closer to the 8 spot that didn’t have a sign. He came out and set me straight for sure.
12 – 16 – SJ Prom 2011.
