PHX Trip | October 2008

We had been planning a trip down to the valley for over a month now, and the weekend finally came. We all got together and headed out to RV to pick up dad at the Show Low Arby’s. While eating dinner in Show Low dad noticed there was a nail in the back tire so we had to run back to Future Tire and get it repaired before we headed to the RV v. Payson football game. We ended up talking to Kelli Brown there for the entire first half. (My mom and I donated Gymnastics Season Passes and a Computer overhaul for her husband’s Benefit. I heard from Scott Hall who dropped his computer off last night, and his wife made sure her name was at the end of the list of the silent auction for the overhaul.) The second half Amanda and I ended up sitting by Brian Maughan, Josh Rogers, and Jackson Rogers. It was great to catch up with them.

We headed into the valley at about 11pm and crashed in our hotel rooms. The next morning we got up and had some breakfast which was actually really good. At the game I had someone meeting me to buy a new DS for Mylea. Her’s had been stolen at a La Quinta hotel in Albuquerque before school started. I had been looking for a deal since I had worked with them hotel for them to pay for it. She ended up getting a bright pink DS and 11 games for $150.00. Dealcity right there!

Clancey’s game was very good even though they didn’t win. It was fun to be back at the field watching him. We had mad it to pretty much every game the year before.

It was kinda windy and our awesome umberellas weren’t in the best shape, but all in all it was a great time. We all went out and had lunch, and after that we went seperate ways and visited Uncle Bob’s, watched basketball games, played putt-putt, went to the mall, and all ended up together at the Football game that night. We headed out of the valley at 1030 and I ended up driving us all the way home. At about 2am we pulled in to the house, unloaded our stuff, and crashed out hard.

About 5 hours later we were up again and getting ready for Church. We had hurried back for it, and I had volunteered to do sharing time so we played Charades with the little kids, and the 25,000 Blessing Pryamid for the bigger kids. It was a blast, and I don’t think i’ve had such a great time at church in a long time.

After we all headed to our house for Carne Asada French Fries and Iron Man. Everyone pretty much fell asleep, and just hung out for the rest of the afternoon. Great weekend!

General Conference | Tweet Tweet

Been watching General Conference, and actually just heard a great talk on Marriage. I loves me some General Conference, and am enjoying being with my family watching it this afternoon. I had my laptop turned on and Twitter was going, and i started getting invites and updates after i made a tweet about conference. Now i’m getting tweets during conference about people listening to the same talks. It is actually very cool so i’m joining in on the fun. Just to the right of this blog post if my Twitter feed, I update it more often that the actual blog itself so check it out for mini-updates i usually post.

Monster + Luna + Co = BFF

So i was heading to bed last night, and noticed a little something in our dining room. Co had fallen asleep with Luna on his bed. They have been hanging out all the time, and are usually next to each other around the house. I thought that was funny and headed to bed only to find Monster asleep in our dirty clothes hamper. When i woke up this morning, and was getting ready to work Co had jumped on into the hamper and Monster was getting out of it. Our animals are interesting for sure…

*UPDATE – They did it more than once last night, and i’m pretty sure it will become a common occurance for them. Luna doesn’t jump the fence (knock on wood) while we are gone, and we’ve decided he was just lonely.

Haulin’ Wood

It’s that time of year again. I haven’t done this for a while now, but it has been good to go out and get wood for the winter. We’ve gone out for the last two weekends and gotten loads for both our and my parents houses. My dad and I went out Monday night and got another load. I met him with the truck on his way home and we got a load in. After filling the truck we saw a dozen elk on the way to the main road. We even stopped and used the straw from my dad’s mug to call the elk in. We got calls back, and made a cool end to the day. We got home at dusk, and i’ll have to unload the wood when I get home today.

Horse Races Part 2

So we headed back to the races to enjoy some Quarter Horse goodness. It was pretty fun, and we all got to enjoy it again. The only bad part was that they still had tacos so Amanda and I were bad and had some delicous tacos. I snapped a couple pics from my cell that i thought turned out very good. Click on ’em to jumbo size them.

Dare Family Biggest Loser

Well, it is underway… Some of the Dare Family decided to have a family “Biggest Loser” so we decided to build a site to post our scores and have fun sharing exercises and recipes. For the moment to get to the website, click:

I am in the process of changing it, so stay tuned. It will end up being http://big.wesmcb.com/

I have started a blog that will take the place of the forum that i was going to build. (i’m kinda lazy) Please send me your email addresses so i can add you a s authors to the blog. We will then be able to post pics, videos, or whatever else. I am looking forward to the new recipes.

Also I will need some info for your profile page on the site. Its all in fun to feel free to make it hilarious. More to come, but they are getting ready to have Tricycle races at lunch so i better head down to the parking lot.
