The days are getting shorter.. :(

Arizona State University

Northland Pioneer College

Well it’s that time of the year once again.  This week has been the beginning of the Fall semester for both of us.  Amanda started her second year of Nursing school at Northland Pioneer College.  I think she’s excited, and we are learning how to juggle Rustyn between work, Church callings, and studying.  I’m back at ASU for another semester.  Rustyn is growing so fast, and he will probably be the thing that keeps us going this semester.

A little Team Roping to relax

While Amanda is out of town I’ve been up to my neck in work for ZNET, my personal business, so my Mom thought it smart to invite me to rope this evening.  I can’t tell you how much I needed it.  I always forget how relaxing horses are, and when you’re roping well how relaxing that can be as well.  I promise I caught almost every singe steer, but was so enamored with the photos my mom took of me throwing my loop that I wanted to show them off.  Mylea even got to rope Noel.

A visit to Crown of Life

After the Diamondbacks game we enjoyed a nice evening with Clancey and Cynthia at Oreganos. The next morning we got up and packed everything for home. Our first stop was a run up to Sun City West to see a customer of mine, Crown of Life Lutheran Church. Sue was excited to meet Rustyn so it was a nice trip. I had the feeling we needed to go home through Payson, no joke, and we ended up getting a call from Kody. He was out of gas between Payson and Heber so we were able to stop at the Walmart, buy a gas can, and get him enough gas to get to Heber’s Circle K for a fill up.

Rustyn’s First Diamond Backs Game

I got some great tickets for the Diamondbacks game today and since we were down here anyways we decided to enjoy the game.  It was also Uncle Clancey’s first time to meet Rustyn and I think he’s a fan.  It was a blast and had the roof on Chase Field not been closed there is no way you could have gotten me within miles of that game.  Enjoy the photos!

Saint Johns Pioneer Days Rodeo 2009

We went to the 24th of July Rodeo in Saint Johns and Mylea did a great job.  Rustyn had his first all day rodeo outing, and he did get a tad sunburnt, but 24 hours later he’s doing just fine.  Here’s the events in Mylea’s own words.  Check her blog out at http://www.jhette.com

One month has come and gone!

I wanted to update everyone on Rustyn’s progress over the last month. Sorry there are no pictures, I will post some soon.

On the 16th Rustyn had his one month check up, I can’t believe it has already been a month! Yikes! If this is how fast life goes with a child, I’m in trouble. He is now 11 lbs and 24 inches long! He is growing so fast and he is getting really chunky 🙂 He has now grown out of all his newborn clothes and is now able to track objects that catch his eye, most of the time his hands. He is a lot more alert and turns his head looking for us when mom and dad talk. That is really cool when I am out somewhere and he is getting a little worked up and I talk and he calms down. He is sleeping very well at night, giving me at least 4 hours of sleep at a time. Last night was an exception, he slept for almost 6 hours!!! Man did I feel good this morning with almost 6 hours of straight sleep! He is staying up more during the day and I think that is contributing to his good sleep habbits at night. All in all this month has been great!

We are headed to the St. Johns rodeo today and then to our little jackpot tonight. This is going to be a long day, but hopefully it will be very fun. Then this weekend we are headed to the valley to see some good friends and have a great time, if the heat doesn’t kill me first!!

Pictures of Rustyn at one month and of the rodeos and the valley will come early next week.

Gwen Plays Wii

I found some random pictures that needed to get online.  Gwen came over for dinner last night, and we ended up playing Bowling and Tennis on the Wii.  She had a great time and we all think she should get one for her house! Other pictures are Rustyn in his Cowboy outfit that Grandma McBride made for him, Rustyn holding his own bottle, and him checking himself out in the mirror.

Rustyn’s first real Bath

While mom and Mylea are partying down up at Green’s Peak dad and Rustyn are hanging out at Grandma’s house.  Dad’s back decided to not be his friend or he would be up there camping as well.  This is Rustyn’s second sleep over and to celebrate he had his first ever real bath.  He loved it, and was stretching out and loving the water.  He’s crashed out now and I think that will become a normal night-time workout plan. hehe
