Today is a pretty big day. Amanda is at her first day at Summit as an Intensive Care Nurse, and it is Rustyn’s birthday. Emily, Rustyn’s babysitter, asked if he could have a cupcake so he’s celebrating his birthday without us. When I get home Rustyn gets to continue the fun times by going on a service project with dad and the young men and women.

Grandma got Rustyn a pool
Grandma and Aunt Mylea went to Show Low today and brought back a pool for Rustyn. He wasn’t too sure about it to begin with, but ended up having a good time when Mylea ended up joining him. Thanks Grandma..

Sunday Relaxing
This Sunday was a little different than the normal. The Gila Valley Temple was dedicated ,and we were able to to see it from a broadcast that was streamed to our Stake Center. After we headed over to my parents were we found Rustyn picking up chicks. For dinner the Lunds came over and we ended up throwing a dinner together. I ended up making a Food Mob! dinner with the perfect steak, fries, a salad my mom made, and garlic bread. We ate outside on the patio while the sun was setting. It was a nice, relaxing day.
Canon Rebel XSi + TI83plus = Time-Lapse Goodness
This morning I was starting to look at our cameras in preparation for the Trek. The stake asked if we’d video it. I have this picture in my head to have a time-lapse event where the sun rises on the camp and everything going on. Turns out the Rebel doesn’t have that functionality out of the box, and I’d need to purchase a separate device to tell the camera to take the pictures. Soon after I came across a great article at Instructables. It shows you how to program a Texas Instruments graphing calculator into an Intervalometer. I found Amanda’s calculator, and programmed it. Here’s the outcome..
Now I just need to make a male 2.5m cable longer than the one that came with my TI Link Cable.
Here’s the original posting from Instructables
UPDATE: Here is the program for the TI83+

Flower & Garden Boxen
I always forget to take a picture before I start something, but Amanda wanted a flower box in the front yard so today after the Dentist (no cavities for either of us WAHOO) we ran to Woodland and picked up the log cabin screws. Here what it looks like so far. I’m going out to pick up the dirt, and then we’ll post progress as stuff grows. We’re making another box in the backyard for the garden.
UPDATE: Today we built the garden box and filled both of them in with some pretty nice topsoil.
Cooking with Food Mob!
I never fancied myself a guy that watched a show and cooked along with Rachael Ray or whoever else, but amidst all the tech shows that I watch on Revision3 I found this gem. Food Mob! is a 10 to 15 minute show featuring some kind of meal. This week was pasta with prawns. We cooked it for dinner and I loved it so much i forgot to take a photo of it until it was almost gone. I would recommend checking it out and enjoying the great food in store for you. Just tell them that @zeronome (Twitter) sent you.
