On Sunday we decided to head up into the mountains before it gets too cold, and see the leaves change and take family pictures. We had a hamburger/hotdog fry after we got done taking pictures and Mylea finished riding her horses. On the way back we stopped to bugle the elk, and while pulling off the road I got a flat. We got it fixed and an enjoyable Sabbath.
Rustyn Update & the Semester of Craziness
Look what Facebook has done to me, I haven’t touched our blog in a while. We are in the middle of the semester of craziness (part 1 of 2), and Christmas never looked so good. We are both running around like crazy people!! Rustyn is beginning to learn how to do things and retain them. He has had a lot of firsts this week. He ate his first round of real food. I believe so far he’s had peas, oatmeal, and bananas. Bananas are his favorite for sure! He also rolled over this week. Amanda sent me this picture a while ago of him rolling around. He’s hilarious because so much of his personality is in his eye brows. He’s growing so fast, and we love him!
One more Rodeo for the season
It looks like we will have one more rodeo before it gets too cold. This Saturday we will have a Benefit Fund Day for the Rory Finch Family. There will be a 4D Barrel Race, 4D Pole Bending, regular Gymkhana events, a Dummy Roping, and a Draw Pot Team Roping. Please come by and support the event @ 2pm Saturday.
Our “Dodge” Petit Grand Piano
Well it only took 10 months to have our piano tuned for the first time. I think that poor piano just had its first tuning in more than a decade. We have begun the long process of getting it whipped back into shape. Our tuner, who will be back up in six months, told us that our Howard piano was known as a Petit Grand. That is due to its length of four feet. He further described the Howard brand as the Dodge of pianos, meaning that it is not the Cadillac of Grand Pianos, but very utilitarian in nature. He assured us it would eventually sounds beautiful again so we have begun the adventure of tuning and repairs that are expected in a 90 year old piano. Needless to say we learned a lot last night about our piano and are excited to get it whipped back into shape. We are currently half a step flat in the tuning, but our main purpose was to begin to stretch out the strings again. This is actually a blessing because of how busy we are this year with school and learning how to be parents.

RVRCE Finals & Mylea’s Birthday
This weekend was the finals for the RVRCE. Above are pics from the weekend, and below is a video of Rustyn laughing up in the timer shack during the rodeo. We also had Mylea’s birthday at our house on Sunday. We set up the Wii in the garage on a projector, and played ping pong outside. Later in the day we had a Dummy Roping in the middle of the street with our neighbors.
