Couch to 5K

Amanda’s family is going to have their family’s first 5K.  The plan is to have this year’s event be in Fruita, CO the weekend of Reagan Dare’s baptism.  We are planning on using the Couch to 5K system to get ready for it.  The work out is listed below, and there is also a number of apps available (iOS) to help you on your runs if you are following the system listed below.

C25K™ – 5K Trainer Pro – iOS | Android

Couch-to-5K – iOS | Android

I also created a Facebook page not with only this in mind, but a way for the family to interact or send things to the rest of the family.  Head over to http://facebook.com/thedarefam and like the page.

Thunder Raceway with Papa Dean

MeeMaw Donna and Papa Dean have been camping up our way this summer, so Rustyn and Alex have been able to hang out with them more lately.  Papa Dean decided to take the kids to the races in Show Low, and Rustyn loved it.  Check out the video of our fun below.

Dare Family Pig Roast 2011

Every year my wife’s family has a pig roast that was a company get together, but now is more of a neighborhood get together of friends and family. We were able to head up for the weekend, and had a great time. Rustyn and Alex were able to meet their Uncle Mike that recently moved from Iowa with his family to Colorado. Were able to have a great time seeing Chad & Mindy’s daughters play soccer and go play on Uncle Mike’s quad’s and papa Dean’s side-by-side. We stopped on the way and the way home in Blanding at their park and had a good break and lunch. Always great to get to see almost the entire Double D Dare family.

Fruita/Salt Lake Weekend

A friend of mine got sealed in Salt Lake and invited us to be at the sealing.  We decided to head up to Fruita to see Amanda’s brother and family, and then run up to Salt Lake for the sealing.  We hung out at the pool, and Rustyn had a blast once again in the water.  While we were up in Salt Lake Chad and Mindy watched the kids, THANKS, and they had a great time.  We actually went and watched a movie, ate at the Roof with a great view, listened to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir practice, and then got a great night sleep.  The next morning we went to a session before the sealing and had such a great experience that I don’t think either of us will ever forget.  Thanks Dare’s for the fun weekend.

November Family Newsletter

Dear Family,

Well this is the first time we have submitted a letter in the family news. We have talked about doing it, but it just never got it done. The month of November was busy and went by so fast. Our lease ended at the end of November, so we had to make a choice to either stay in our small one bedroom or upgrade to a two bedroom. We choose the later. Our address stayed the same, just the apartment number changed. We now live in # 241. We like it much better, there is much more room. Wes’s little brother, Clancey, might move in with us until he goes on his mission this coming summer. We enjoy having him around and think it would be a way to help him save some money and prepare for his mission. But we will see what happens.

We went up to Colorado for Thanksgiving. Chad and Mindy invited us to have Thanksgiving dinner with them. Mom and Dad came over from Meeker as well. It was a lot of fun. We arrived there on Wednesday afternoon and that evening we went to Chad and Sam’s company party at Rib City there in Fruita. It was a great dinner and good company. Thursday we helped prepare the dinner and played with Carli, Regan, and Mollie. On Friday morning we got up early and went Black Friday shopping. It was a lot of fun and we got some really great deals. It was Amanda and Mom’s first time going. I think we will be going for the next years to come. We drove home on Saturday and stopped in Springerville to stay the night with Wes’s family. We made it back to our home on Sunday evening. What a wonderful few days off that was!!

As soon as we got back we started packing our old place up and moving to the new one. In the middle of the week Wes got really sick and was out for the count and couldn’t help much. So I moved all that I could and by Friday we were ready to move all of the big stuff. Wes had set up with one of his friends to help up by using his truck. Friday morning was beautiful… well for part of the morning, then it started raining. Yep we moved all our stuff in the rain. His buddy with the truck showed up about an hour after we started, thank goodness! When it was all said and done we were soaked to the bone and had a big mess at our new place to clean up. Now everything is all put away and it is starting to feel more like home.
We love you all and hope everyone has a safe Christmas season. Hope to see all the cousins at the cousin party this year!!

Love, Wes and Amanda McBride
